Thank you for your interest in the Rochester Academy Charter School (RACS).  Below you will find the directions for applying to our school.

Steps for Applying to RACS:

1. You may apply online (select “Apply Now” under the Admissions tab) or in person at 841 Genesee Street or 901 Portland Avenue.

2. Once you have applied, the application will be placed in the applicant lottery.

3. If your child is selected from the lottery, you will receive an enrollment package, which will need to be completed to finalize your child’s enrollment at RACS.

Lottery Process:

For each school year there will be a designated date for the drawing of students to attend RACS. RACS will pull names from the applicant pool to fill all of the available spots in each grade level. The remaining applicants will be placed on our waiting list. When a spot becomes available a drawing from the waiting list will take place to fill that spot.

All Potential Applicants:

We need to ensure the student(s) being enrolled are New York State (NYS) residents. Students located in Monroe County are welcome to join our school. If you are planning on moving to NYS, please let us know when the address will be official. We will then mail an enrollment package to the mailing address submitted. Finally, we need to review report cards of all students applying to verify proper grade level placement and achievement.

Completed Enrollment Package:

Along with the completed Enrollment Package you will be required to submit the following:

·     Most recent Report Card

·     Student’s updated Immunization Record (can be faxed by physician)

·     Birth certificate (copy)

·     Proof of Residence.

Incomplete applications cannot be processed. A waiting list will be adopted upon reaching grade level capacity.
