On Friday, March 31st, RACS High School students went to Cornell University to participate in the World Food Prize New York Institute. To participate in the World Food Prize New York Youth Institute, our students researched a global challenge and wrote a 2 -3 page paper and submitted it to the program. Each student analyzed how global trends affect a country and its people, economy, environment, health, and way of life. They proposed their own solutions to global challenges focusing on food shortage in Ghana, human diseases in Puerto Rico, and conflict resolution in Somalia.
Students met with graduate students, professors, and other high school students from different schools to share their projects. Our students learned a lot! Special thanks to Ms. Sirin and Mr. Cubuk, for guidance and mentorship to our students. Congratulations to Saidi, Xiorelis, Yusuf, Eric, Nhandi, Willie!
