Notice of Nondiscrimination and Contact Information for the Title IX Coordinator
The Board of Trustees and the Administration of Rochester Academy Charter School recognize that sexual harassment is a form of misconduct which undermines a person's dignity and respect. Sexual harassment can take many forms and includes any unwelcome sexual advance by an employee of the School, a school volunteer, a student, and non-employees such as contractors and vendors that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive educational environment. The Board will not tolerate any form of sexual harassment on school grounds or at any school-sponsored event, program or activity including those that take place at locations off school premises. Any person who commits an act of sexual harassment toward a RACS student, faculty or staff member will be subject to disciplinary action.
The Director is directed to establish a process for reporting and investigating any complaint of sexual harassment of a student.
Any student, faculty or community member wishing to make a report of sexual harassment should make a formal complaint to the Chief Academic Officer, in person or in writing. If the complaint is against the Chief Academic Officer, the complaint can be made to the Director.
The investigation of all sexual harassment incents will be handled with confidentiality. Any act of retaliation against a person alleging or reporting sexual harassment will result in disciplinary action.
